FASING THE LAKE INTERIOR
Located in Geneva, near the French border, this apartment creates a sense of protected interiority while remaining open to its surroundings. The space maintains a constant dialogue with the horizon of Lake Geneva, with light, sky, and the ever-changing atmosphere of the landscape present throughout the day.
The interior does not seek to impress—it convinces quietly. Through clarity, balance, and coherence. Through warm, vibrant colours, natural materials, and carefully articulated transitions between zones. Light is not an addition but a primary tool: it shapes volumes, softens boundaries, and establishes rhythm, turning the space into a setting for a slow, conscious way of living.
A central element in the spatial narrative is formed by the sculptural sliding doors that separate the living area from the private zone for rest and sleep. Rather than acting as a mere partition, they function as an architectural gesture with artistic presence. Fully developed and designed by the studio, these doors subtly yet decisively express individuality, adding character to the interior without disturbing its calm and cohesion.
Within this context, the custom brass art sculptures—created by Elena Georgieva, the author of the project—are not decorative accents but a natural extension of the architecture itself. They exist as material poetry, capturing and reflecting light, changing with it, and remaining present as both tactile and visual memory. In dialogue with scale and rhythm, the sculptures connect art with habitation, transforming the home into a holistic, sensory experience rather than a mere setting.
The project presents the interior as a balanced unity of function, emotion, and artistic presence—a space where design does not dominate, but instead creates conditions for living, contemplation, and inner harmony. A home—mature, calm, and confident. A home that does not seek comparison, but remains.
